Why Is It So Hard To Clean Cat Urine?

Anyone with a cat probably has a cat urine problem. Either the cat is spraying to mark its territory or there is something upsetting it like turmoil in the house or even a dirty litter box.

As a result they will urinate everywhere except where they are supposed to and soon the entire house is filled with that nasty cat urine smell that gets worse over time.

To clean cat urine many people try and save money by not buying a good cat urine remover and try some household cleaners which often make it worse because of the ammonia in them. This is because ammonia is in cat pee too and cats like to go where they have gone before so when they smell ammonia they figure that is a good place to pee.

Some folks will make a homemade cat urine cleaner from a recipe they found on the Internet. Simply put, these don’t work either.

The reason that regular cleaners and home remedies don’t work is due to the fact that the uric acid crystals in cat urine actually bond to surfaces like glue and the only way to completely remove them is to use an enzyme based cat urine remover that is specially formulated to quite literally eat the uric acid crystals.
